Aston Villa have suffered an early season crisis as their star man Christian Benteke is to be out injured for the next six weeks with a hip injury.
The Belgian who has been a revelation at the club since signing last summer picked up the injury in the game against Norwich City at the weekend in which Villa won 1-0.
This will be a big blow to Paul Lambert’s plans who spent the majority of the summer trying to keep Benteke at the club and succeeded clearly by getting him to commit his future to the club by signing a new contract.
It’s not all bad news though as they still have old favourite Gabriel Agbonlahor to rely on along with new signing Libor Kozak who scored the only goal at the weekend. Kozak joined from Italian Cup winners Lazio at the end of summer.
